Winter Solstice 2025

December 21, 2025 marks the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. This is the shortest and longest night of the year! Imagine that, I have often thought of it as the shortest day, but never really considered it it is the longest night. 

In the world of crystal healing, this is a pivotal "hinge point" in the calendar, representing a shift from deep introspection to the slow return of the light.  

As the eve draws to a close, consider the crystals in your collection, hold the one that speaks to you or resonates within you. This could be a tumble a raw stone, or even a piece that has multiple stones. Hold this piece in your hands and find a comfortable spot to sit and close your eyes. Think of all you have achieved this year. Think of the moments that have brought you joy, and then think of the moments that may have brought you sorrow or pain. 

Breathe through those moments, watch them behind your eyes like a movie. Now think of a bright light washing over you and those sorrowful moments, let the light bathe you and fill you with warmth. The winter solstice is the time to release the dark and let in the light.

Now breathe in and set your intentions for the coming year. Embrace the love and light, let it fill you with hope and peace.

This short meditation will help you to begin anew and start the next rotation with love and light in your heart. 

The Solstice is less about the darkness and more about the rebirth that happens within it. Just as the Tree of Life remains rooted in winter to bloom in spring, crystal healing during this time focuses on:
